Blu & Sndtrak Celebrate Los Angeles on New Album LA

Blu is putting his hometown at the center of his latest project, teaming up with producer Sndtrak for the new collaborative album LA.

Released on September 4, 2026, the 10-track project is an unmistakable tribute to Los Angeles and the wider musical identity of the West Coast. The album arrives through Nature Sounds and runs for roughly 32 minutes, giving Blu and Sndtrak a compact space to explore the city’s history, neighborhoods, culture and rap traditions.

For Blu, the concept is deeply personal. The Los Angeles rapper described the project as a way of paying homage to where he grew up while reintroducing the sounds that shaped him in a new way. Rather than reducing West Coast hip-hop to one recognizable style, LA moves between the classic influence of California rap and the soulful, independent sound that has long existed alongside it.

Production comes entirely from Sndtrak, the Oakland producer associated with 9th Wonder’s Soul Council. His production gives Blu room to lean into storytelling, hometown observations and the lyrical style that has made him one of Los Angeles’ most respected underground voices.

The guest list also makes LA feel like a broader celebration of West Coast talent.

ICECOLDBISHOP and Cashus King appear on “Westsider,” while Cashus King joins Thurz on “Crip Blood.” “Clippers” brings together Trizz, MED and Like, while Iman Omari and Propaganda appear on “Sunshine.” Veteran turntablist DJ Revolution opens the project on “L.A.,” while Volume 10 and G-Kidd also contribute across the record.

The title alone makes the album’s purpose clear, but the project goes further than simply attaching Los Angeles imagery to a collection of songs. Blu has spent years documenting Los Angeles from his own perspective, and LA feels like another chapter in that relationship. LA is available digitally now, while vinyl and CD editions are currently scheduled to ship around October 23, 2026.
