Travis Scott Teases Re-Release of Debut Mixtape ‘Owl Pharaoh’ on Streaming Services

Travis Scott, the Houston rapper who has consistently pushed the boundaries of music and culture, is hinting at a major move for his 2013 debut mixtape, Owl Pharaoh. In a recent cover interview with Complex, Scott teased the possibility of re-releasing the iconic project on streaming platforms, following the success of his 2023 re-release of Days Before Rodeo.

Reflecting on the massive success of Days Before Rodeo‘s 10th-anniversary re-release, which saw the mixtape reach new heights on the charts, La Flame expressed interest in giving Owl Pharaoh a similar treatment. “Yeah, definitely. For sure,” Scott confirmed when asked about the potential re-release, adding, “I’m just thinking about the right time for that.”

While the 10-year milestone for Owl Pharaoh has already passed, Travis noted that there’s always the 15-year mark in 2028 to look forward to. His cautious approach mirrors the strategic re-release of Days Before Rodeo, which brought the project back into the limelight, cementing its place in the culture and showcasing its lasting impact.

Days Before Rodeo made waves in 2023 when it climbed to the top of the charts, fueled by a surge in vinyl sales. The project, initially released in 2014, saw an impressive jump from number 106 to number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with 149,000 of its 156,000 equivalent units coming from vinyl sales. The re-release marked the largest-ever sales week for a rap album on vinyl, breaking records and solidifying Travis Scott’s status as a major force in the music industry.

As Owl Pharaoh celebrates its legacy, fans are eagerly awaiting what could be another game-changing moment in the rapper’s discography. The mixtape, which helped launch Scott’s career and defined his early sound, has yet to be made widely available on streaming platforms, and this potential move could be a defining moment for both the artist and his audience.

Though Scott is still contemplating the perfect timing for the re-release, fans are hopeful that Owl Pharaoh will soon be available for streaming, giving them a chance to revisit the mixtape that laid the foundation for one of the most successful careers in modern hip-hop.

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development from Travis Scott, as we look forward to what’s next for La Flame.
