Snoop Dogg Unveils Gospel Album ‘Altar Call’ in Honor of His Late Mother

Snoop Dogg is stepping into a more spiritual lane with the upcoming release of his gospel album, Altar Call. Set to drop on April 27, 2025, the project is a heartfelt dedication to his mother, Beverly Tate, who passed away in 2021.
The legendary rapper announced the project through a video shared on social media, expressing how the album reflects the values and faith his mother instilled in him.
The 21-track album blends gospel, soul, R&B, and hip-hop, and features collaborations with notable artists such as Jamie Foxx, Robert Glasper, Jazze Pha, and October London. The first single is expected to be released on April 18, giving fans an early taste of the album’s uplifting sound.
According to Snoop, this project isn’t about commercial success, but rather spiritual expression. He previously explored gospel with his 2018 release Bible of Love, and Altar Call continues that journey with even deeper emotional roots.
This release also marks a new chapter for Death Row Records, which Snoop acquired in 2022. Known for its iconic role in shaping West Coast hip-hop, the label is now expanding into more diverse musical territory.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or just curious to hear a new side of Snoop, Altar Call promises a powerful mix of faith, family, and music straight from the heart
