Young Scooter Laid to Rest in Atlanta After Tragic Passing

Atlanta said goodbye to a beloved rapper, as Young Scooter was laid to rest after a fatal injury took his life just over a week ago. The homegoing ceremony, held on April 7 at Saint Philip AME Church, was filled with family, friends, and fans who gathered to celebrate his life and legacy.

Among those mourning the loss was his teen son, who wore a new chain with his dad’s picture inside a gold book, the piece flooded with diamonds as a tribute to Young Scooter.

The rapper, born Kenneth Bailey, passed away from an injury sustained while fleeing the police after jumping a fence. The autopsy confirmed that it wasn’t a gunshot wound, as some conspiracy theories had suggested. Instead, the injury to his leg caused significant blood loss.

Scooter’s death came after a 911 call turned out to be a hoax. The call, made by Baddies star Demi Blanco (real name Demetria Spence), claimed to report a violent scene involving drugs, a bleeding woman, and a hostage situation. The police responded to the call, but when they arrived, they found no evidence to support her claims. Blanco was arrested for filing a false report that led to serious harm, with the charges later bringing her a $7,500 bond.

The tragic incident left a mark on the Atlanta community, with fellow artists like Future sharing heartfelt tributes. Future took to social media to express his grief, writing, “Life will never be the same.”

After the ceremony, Young Scooter will be buried in his hometown of Walterboro, South Carolina, as his family and loved ones continue to remember his legacy.
