Lil Durk’s Legal Team Challenges Evidence in Murder-for-Hire Case

Lil Durk is fighting to get his murder-for-hire case thrown out, with his lawyers claiming that prosecutors misled the grand jury. The charges allege Durk ordered a hit on rapper Quando Rondo in 2022, supposedly in retaliation for King Von’s death.

Durk’s lawyers argue that lyrics cited from a Babyface Ray song were written before the alleged incident, contradicting the timeline presented by the prosecution. They say this misrepresentation undermines the validity of the indictment.

They also argue that prosecutors used misleading fan-edited videos, which Durk had no control over, as part of their case — including clips that splice Quando Rondo’s reactions over unrelated lyrics to make it appear like a confession.

Durk remains in jail after a denied bail request. His attorneys had offered $3 million in cash and property, but the judge cited a pattern of misbehavior and rule-breaking at the LA jail, including Durk’s alleged misuse of the phone system.

His trial is set for October 14, 2025. It’s a complex case, with over 230GB of digital evidence and 20,000 pages of documentation. Durk maintains his innocence and claims the evidence is weak.
