Kanye West Admits to Borrowing From Drake’s Music

Kanye West recently opened up about his past musical inspirations, admitting that he has at times copied Drake’s style. Despite their history of trading insults and subliminal disses, the two have worked together on tracks like “Glow” and “Forever.”

In a livestream with Toronto rapper and Drake affiliate Top5, Ye candidly said, “Drake doesn’t copy me — I’ve copied Drake’s flow plenty of times. Some of my tracks, especially after Drake dominated the algorithm, were straight-up influenced by him.”

West also praised Drake in a separate video posted on X (formerly Twitter), especially in light of his legal battle with Universal Music Group (UMG). He expressed his excitement over what he called a huge win in music, referencing Drake, Kendrick Lamar, the Super Bowl, and the Grammys, saying it had deeply affected him.

Ye concluded by declaring his support for Drake and Kendrick, pledging to put their past feud behind them: “I’ll never disrespect Drake again. I’m Team Drake 100%. And Team Kendrick. We should all be going after UMG now.”
