JID & Metro Boomin Tease Joint Album With New Track “WRK” at Dreamville Fest

JID and Metro Boomin just turned up the heat for fans eagerly awaiting their joint project.
During his performance at J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival this past weekend, the Atlanta rapper debuted a brand-new track titled “WRK,” giving fans the first real taste of his highly anticipated full-length collaboration with Metro. Shortly after, JID also dropped a crisp snippet of the track on social media, confirming it’s officially on the way.
The track is currently available to pre-save via JID’s website, along with teasers for three more cuts: “DRP,” “Killers Back,” and “HoodByJID Freestyle.”
In a quick backstage chat with Complex, JID spoke on both the Metro collaboration and his upcoming solo album, tentatively titled Forever & A Day. Though he remained tight-lipped on specific release dates, he made one thing clear — the music is coming.
“When the work is there, you’re gonna know exactly what it is,” he said. “I promise, when it’s presented, there’s not gonna be so much of a mystery around it.”
Talks of a joint album between the lyrical wizard and the superproducer began swirling back in 2023, after Metro posted a photo of them together in the studio with the caption: “Got a lot of new music coming but when me and @JIDsv drop 🔥🌀.”
JID quickly clarified rumors that they were only teasing a single, confirming the two were indeed working on an entire project. Their creative chemistry has been on full display ever since, with both artists exchanging public admiration.
“I love working with u brudda, it’s an honor,” JID told Metro on X. “Honor is mine family 🤝,” Metro replied.
Meanwhile, JID has been teasing his solo work in unexpected ways — including a WingStop ad. In March, he narrated a commercial for the chicken chain’s new tenders, revealing that the beat playing in the background was pulled straight from his upcoming album.
“Y’all really mad at me for loving wings?” he joked on Instagram. “Plus the beat is from my album… come on man, y’all being stiff.”
He added: “A n***a leaking his album beats thru a WingStop commercial, come on we playing a different game.”
Between Forever & A Day and the JID x Metro tape, fans of clever bars and booming production have a lot to look forward to in 2025.
