Drake Calls Out Justin Bieber for Ghosting His Collab Request

Drake and Justin Bieber’s longstanding friendship and Canadian roots could’ve led to some more musical magic, but it seems Bieber isn’t quite ready to jump into the studio with Drizzy just yet.

On Sunday (April 6), Bieber shared a post on Instagram inviting artists to reach out if they were interested in making music together. With nearly 300 million followers, it was an open call that didn’t go unnoticed, and Drake quickly responded in the comments.

“DM’d but no reply,” Drake wrote, playfully calling out Bieber for curving his collaboration request.

While Bieber hasn’t responded to Drizzy’s comment, the singer’s inbox soon filled with collaboration offers from other big names. Big Sean, who previously worked with Bieber on the 2012 track “As Long As You Love Me,” jumped in with “Check DM’s.” Kehlani and Jaden Smith also showed interest, while rising country star Bailey Zimmerman playfully chimed in with “WE NEED COUNTRY JB.”

In related news, producer Hit-Boy shared a throwback story from 2013 about how a beat for Big Sean was ultimately used for the Bieber-Drake collaboration “Right Here.” Despite not becoming a major hit (it peaked at number 95 on the Billboard Hot 100), the track marked the duo’s only official collaboration so far.

Drake’s comment is just the latest in their playful back-and-forth, which also includes a memorable cameo from the 6 God in Bieber’s “Baby” music video. It seems like the door for future collaborations is always open, but it may take a little longer before fans see these two work together again.
