Cardi B Confident Her Sophomore Album Will Surpass ‘Invasion Of Privacy’

Cardi B is gearing up to release her highly anticipated sophomore album, and she’s already confident it’s going to top her groundbreaking debut, Invasion of Privacy.
During an X Spaces session with her fans on April 6, the Bronx rapper expressed her belief that her second album will outshine her debut, which was released in 2018 and became one of the most successful hip-hop albums of the decade. “I know IOP is of course one of the best albums ever, but I really think my second album is beating it,” Cardi said. “I don’t know why. I just really believe so.”
However, before her fans could get too excited, Cardi quickly added, “Nah, let me not talk. I’m not tryna get jumped by you muthafuckas!” signaling her playful, yet determined approach toward the highly anticipated project.
Cardi’s confidence isn’t just in her own skills but also in the stellar features she’s lined up for the album. “The features on my album are really good,” she teased. “I don’t have a lot of features but I’m working with artists, some that I have worked with before and some that I haven’t worked with before. And the ones that I have not worked with before, I feel like it’s gonna really, really surprise y’all.”
Despite the album’s release being delayed due to Cardi’s pregnancy with her third child, she has remained active in the studio since giving birth in September, keeping fans hopeful for the 2025 drop. Cardi also hinted at possible album titles, mentioning phrases like “Defamation of character” and “Intrusive thoughts,” which her company Washpoppin, Inc. recently trademarked.
With Invasion of Privacy being one of the most iconic hip-hop albums of the last decade, Cardi has set the bar high, but her fans can’t wait to see what she has in store next.
Stay tuned as Cardi B prepares to drop her follow-up album, which promises to be as bold and exciting as her first.
