A$AP Rocky Says He Bombed Star Wars Audition for Lando Calrissian

A$AP Rocky has revealed he once auditioned to play Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but admits the attempt didn’t go well.
In an interview with Variety, the rapper said, “I auditioned for Star Wars — for Lando — and my audition was trash. I was trash that day.”
He also praised Donald Glover, who ultimately landed the role, saying he was a better fit and resembled original actor Billy Dee Williams more closely.
When asked if he’d still be interested in joining Star Wars, Rocky replied enthusiastically: “Hell, yeah.”
Rocky is next set to appear in Highest 2 Lowest, a crime drama directed by Spike Lee, where he stars alongside Denzel Washington and Jeffrey Wright.
He shared that on set, Denzel surprised everyone by bumping modern Memphis rap, including NLE Choppa and Pooh Shiesty.
Spike Lee reportedly cast Rocky after seeing memes comparing him to a young Denzel, which even inspired a joke in the film.
The movie hits theaters August 22 and premieres on Apple TV+ on September 5.
