Diddy Accused of Assaulting Cassie After Alleged Affair in Ongoing Sex Trafficking Trial

Opening statements in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial began on May 12 with disturbing allegations involving long-term partner Cassie Ventura. Prosecutors claim the music mogul physically assaulted Ventura after learning she was allegedly involved with another man during their 11-year relationship.

According to lead prosecutor Emily Johnson, Combs became enraged upon discovering the alleged affair and threatened to kill the man involved. After unsuccessfully attempting to locate him, Diddy allegedly confronted Cassie and violently attacked her, kicking her and “flinging her around like a rag doll.”

Johnson also alleged that Diddy kept sexually explicit videos of Cassie with other men, using them as threats and referring to them as “souvenirs of the most humiliating nights of her life.” These claims form part of a broader case accusing Combs of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking.

Despite the serious nature of the charges, Diddy has pleaded not guilty and denied all allegations. He has opted to face trial rather than accept a plea deal previously offered by prosecutors—an agreement whose details remain undisclosed.

The trial, expected to last eight to ten weeks, could result in a lengthy prison sentence if Combs is found guilty. On the first day of jury selection, the Bad Boy Records founder admitted feeling nervous, even requesting a brief recess due to anxiety—a moment that highlighted the high stakes of the proceedings.

More testimony and evidence are expected in the coming days as the case unfolds in court.
