Kendrick Lamar Spotted Heading Into New York Studio, Teasing New Music

Kendrick Lamar has recently been spotted entering a recording studio in New York, fueling rumors that new music might be in the works. Despite currently being on tour with SZA, Lamar was captured by paparazzi making his way into a studio in the West Village.
While it’s unclear exactly what Lamar is working on, there has been speculation that it could involve a deluxe edition of his album GNX. Lefty Gunplay, who worked on the track “TV Off” with Lamar, teased a potential deluxe release in an interview with Bootleg Kev. Gunplay confirmed that Lamar has “some stuff in the chamber” and is known for being “very secretive” about his projects.
GNX, which dropped in November 2024, continues to see success, with “Luther”, his collaboration with SZA, holding the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-equaling 11 weeks. The song now ties with Diddy and Faith Evans’ “I’ll Be Missing You” for the most weeks at #1 for a duet by co-billed solo artists. The album itself is still holding strong in the Billboard 200, sitting at #3.
In addition to music, Lamar has also been expanding his influence into fashion, recently being announced as the face of Chanel’s eyewear division. He has previously collaborated with major fashion houses like Louis Vuitton and Nike, and his relationship with Chanel dates back to 2023, when he attended the Met Gala in a custom Chanel bomber jacket.
Lamar is also branching out into film, with reports confirming that he’s working on a project with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
