Eminem’s Stalker Convicted Again as Rap Icon Welcomes First Grandchild

Eminem’s longtime stalker, Matthew David Hughes, has been convicted once again—this time for breaking into the rapper’s home for the second time.

According to Detroit Free Press, the 32-year-old was found guilty on Wednesday, May 7, on charges of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking. The short trial included testimony from Eminem himself. Hughes’ sentencing is set for June 17.

This latest break-in occurred during the summer of 2024. Hughes was apprehended shortly after and has remained in Macomb County Jail ever since, unable to post his $500,000 bond. During earlier court proceedings in December, he was ordered to stay away from the Detroit rapper.

Hughes had previously made headlines in 2020 after breaking into Eminem’s home and allegedly telling the artist he was there to kill him. He was sentenced to five years’ probation in a plea deal but violated those terms with another arrest just a few months later.

His history of trespassing even predates that event—he was found sleeping in a guesthouse of a property Eminem once owned back in 2019.

In brighter news, Eminem recently became a grandfather. His daughter, Hailie Jade, gave birth to a baby boy named Evan Marshall McClintock on April 4. The middle name is a tribute to the rap legend himself—whose real name is Marshall Mathers.

Hailie shared the joyful update on Instagram, writing: “Happy due date // 3 weeks earthside little e 🤍.”

Longtime friend 50 Cent congratulated the new mom, reposting the baby photos and writing: “Congratulations. This is the best. WOW!”

Eminem’s other daughter, Alaina, also celebrated the arrival of baby Evan, commenting, “Obsessed with this tiny human… I am SO proud of you and grateful you have Evan.”
