Diddy’s Son & Cuba Gooding Jr. Dropped from Lil Rod Lawsuit

Justin Combs, the son of Diddy, has been removed from producer Lil Rod’s lawsuit against the Bad Boy mogul. Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. has also been dismissed from the case.

Lil Rod had accused Gooding Jr. of sexual assault aboard Diddy’s yacht and claimed Justin Combs was involved in sex trafficking and possibly linked to a shooting at a recording studio. However, a judge dismissed the claims against both men after Lil Rod’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, failed to serve them before the court’s deadline.

The judge also rejected Blackburn’s attempt to serve them through newspaper ads, stating there was no valid reason for the delay. Despite the dismissal, Lil Rod is allowed to refile those claims if he chooses.

Neither Combs nor Gooding Jr. has publicly responded to the ruling.

Diddy himself has also seen portions of the lawsuit trimmed. While some of Lil Rod’s allegations remain, others—like civil racketeering and breach of contract—were dismissed in March after a judge ruled that the claims didn’t show harm under the RICO Act or connect payment issues to criminal activity.

Additional claims against Diddy’s company, Combs Global, were also thrown out, including those related to emotional distress and the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). However, TVPA claims against Diddy and his chief of staff Kristina Khorram were upheld, along with allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and premises liability.

The lawsuit will move forward, but in a narrowed form.
