Cassie Fights Diddy’s Legal Push to Seize Her Memoir & Financial RecordsBy Staff Writer | April 18, 2025

Cassie is pushing back hard against Sean “Diddy” Combs’ attempt to access her private writings and financial documents.
According to recent court filings reported by TMZ, the singer has asked a judge to block a subpoena from Diddy’s legal team, which demands access to any draft memoirs, journals, or written accounts of her time with the music mogul — as well as her bank statements.
Diddy’s lawyers claim that Cassie once offered to sell him a tell-all book for $30 million to keep it from being released — an offer they say he declined. Shortly after, Cassie filed a lawsuit against him in late 2023, accusing him of serious sexual misconduct. That case was settled just one day after being filed.
Now, the legal battle has escalated again as Diddy’s team tries to challenge the credibility of video evidence in a separate criminal case. They’ve introduced testimony from forensic video expert Conor McCourt, who argues that security footage showing Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie in 2016 may have been altered during the processing phase, claiming it was “sped up” and that an iPhone recording of the footage distorted the scene.
McCourt also noted inconsistencies in timestamps, saying these gaps make it difficult to assess what actually happened.
Despite Diddy issuing a public apology for the incident caught on tape, his legal team is actively trying to prevent the footage from being used as evidence in court.
Meanwhile, federal prosecutors claim they have the original video and haven’t yet responded to the expert’s critique.
Cassie’s battle to protect her writings suggests a deeper story may still be untold — and Diddy is doing everything in his power to make sure it stays that way.
