50 Cent Threatens to Shelve ‘Skillhouse’ Over Fallout With ProducerBy Staff Writer | April 18, 2025

Tensions are boiling behind the scenes of Skillhouse, and 50 Cent is ready to pull the plug.

The rap icon turned film executive took to Instagram this week to voice his frustration with movie financier Ryan Kavanaugh, claiming the upcoming horror flick won’t hit theaters unless he gives the green light — which, according to him, hasn’t happened.

“They can’t drop this movie without my signature, and they don’t have it,” 50 warned on social media. “What kind of shady deal is this?”

In a follow-up post, he ramped up the threats: “Ryan Kavanaugh’s doing the most to make me kill this movie. Might be time to throw it in the trash.”

50 didn’t stop there. He took personal jabs at Kavanaugh, sharing old headlines about the producer’s past legal troubles, including a DUI arrest, with captions mocking his credibility.

Kavanaugh hasn’t issued a response as of yet.

Skillhouse, originally shot in 2022, stars 50 Cent alongside TikTok star Bryce Hall and MMA fighter Paige VanZant. The movie gained early notoriety for its extreme gore — reportedly so intense, one camera operator fainted on set during a scene.

“We’re taking horror to another level,” 50 previously said of the film. “This is gonna change the game.”

Despite the chaos, Kavanaugh recently praised Skillhouse as a groundbreaking project, blending social media culture with brutal horror to capture Gen Z attention.

The movie is still slated for a July 11 release, but if 50 stays true to his word, its future might be hanging by a thread.
